I came back from Outward Bound Singapore(OBS) in Pulau Ubin. In these 5 days I learnt a lot of stuff such as taking care of the teammates and cook during the camp.
Day 1
I reached there at campsite 2 about 9 am plus. I looked around, it doesn't look as bad as I thought but my friends already started complaining. We sat down in the multi-purpose hall to wait for other people. At the same time, I was told to go in to my group, Armstrong. Kelvin, Shang Qian, Jun Xiang, Winson and a lot of them we know were in the same group. We were introduced to our instrutor, Alex. We did some admin stuff and went to the stores to collect our items, by then, it was already lunch time. We did belaying during the afternoon. It is used to hold on to the persons who was climbing the rocks. After that is going to pitch a tent then it was dinner. The tents we used were different from the ones we used in NPCC. My campsite is near the beach so it was very windy. After pitching the tent, it was already very dark and difficult to find our food and to clear up. It was aready the end of the first day.
Day 2
We packed up early in the morning into the bagpacks given to us and started packing. I had to go to campsite 1. The bag was so heavy that it was so difficult to walk to campsite 1. Over there, there were proper meals being prepared. My groupmates were very happy and ate a lot. The campsite looks like a resort and it definitely better than campsite 2. I also did rock climbing and had to set a target for ourself. It was not difficult as I think but there some complicated rock walls also for some of them to challenge themselves. After that, we learnt how to kayak. We learnt how to use the paddle and how to control the kayak and what to do when capsizing. It was very werid when we capsize the kayak. After dinner, we had to attend a briefing for sea expedition the next day. I was appointed as a sea-ex leader and a sweeper to stay with the last kayak.
Day 3
Finally it was the sea expedition. I had to put a lot of sun block and wear long sleeve shirt. Being a leader is not as easy. I had to know what to do and stay with the last kayak. The wave was very strong and pushing us away. Those who doesn't know how to kayak will have a hard time. Going to the toilet is very difficult. We had to go down to the sea and just do it there. Quite werid
leh. We got to the campsite quite late and had a hard time cooking and pitch tents as it is very dark . The wind was so strong that the tent of mine fell a lot of times and my roomates were still sleeping then.
Day 4
Last day of activity and it was the land expedition. I am chosen again to be the navigator. Now then I know that I very poor in map reading very lan. In the end still manage to find my way back. I am worried that I may lead the group to a wrong way and they will blame me. Then we were back in camp 2 to buy some souvenirs and went for dinnner.
When I go back today, I am so tired and went to sleep but too bad when I got home my mother is not back back yet so I had to wait for her to come back.
